So lets start off with a nice safe question… Who is Monkey Safari and why the name?
We´re Sven & Lars, two brothers from Halle – Germany…. why not Monkey Safari 
I originally found you guys last year when I stumbled onto one of your quirky housey remixes for Rodrigo y Gabriela – Tamacun… Have you always been making that kind of stuff? What was it that influenced you in your sound?
We love a lot of different kinds of music….people like The Doors, Fatboy Slim, Guns n´ Roses, Mos Def, Gang Starr, Sigur Ros..

How would you say your music has evolved in this last year?
We mostly do the stuff we like, sometimes more housy and other times more techy…..i think the biggest evolution is in the
sound quality and production complexity
Tell us about What! What! Records and why you set it up?
We want to do our own thing and also work with other musicans we like, so our own label is a great platform for this
I’ve always loved the artwork when I stumbled onto it last year… Who’s the brains behind that?
The brains behind the artwork is Mike Okay and his agency KLUB7.

Any exciting releases you have coming up on your label?
Yeah we’ve got a lot up our sleeves
What about the Jackmode team, there’s some seriously amazing names on that roster… Who are your favourites on Jackmode?
We love the Roundies & the Zombies most….all of them are very smart, funny guys and great musicans but also the whole jackmode agency feels like big family with the same mind set…..
Tell us some more about the new release….
I think there´s not much to say. we want to bring good vibes, some love, emotions, fun and feelings to the ears and dancefloors of this world….with every release… and also the Big Mama release is a good mix of that what we want to put out!
What about further down the line… What’s coming up for you guys?
We’ve released a lot in the past few weeks so now it´s time to let the music work, do the gigs….and maybe in spring 2012 we´ll release our first longplayer…
The Jackmoders have done some pretty cool parties over here in the UK… Have you guys been over at all? Will you be coming over here for some more Jackmode parties soon?
We played in the UK on the Gottwood festival in July. It was great fun and we definitely hope to go back.
