New Look – New Album 1

Nope we’re not talking about the fashion retailer! The name may not be so unique but the self titled album from this husband wife duo certainly is!

So who are New Look you ask? The dreamy harmonising vocals are courtesy of part-time model Sarah Ruba. And credit for the production goes to her husband Adam Pavao.

This Canadian couple have just released their incredible debut album on !K7 (home to lots of big acts!). It can only be described as a fantasy voyage through bouncy ballads and melodic synths. It’s got a post dubstep pop feel to it but the deep house and 80s influences can’t be overlooked.

My fave track has to be ‘Nap on the Bow’. I have to admit this has been on repeat for most of the day! It’s super catchy with beautifully feminine yet powerful vocals. The cheeky beat and deep dreamy bassline makes it hard to keep still. If you don’t believe me, check out the official video below.

It’s a visual masterpiece!

Nap on the Bow is closely followed by ‘Numbers’. Faster paced, this tune has elements that remind of of Steffi. This track also features New Looks signature synths and keyboard riffs. Video below:

‘The Ballad’ is more pitched down and the super catchy vocals that tell a tale of love, actually remind me a bit of Kate Bush.
