So, I heard this track a few days ago, but after a heavy weekend at Cocoon in the Park, my writing abilities weren’t quite up to scratch (Sven Vath, you legend).
Some tracks are just worth writing about though.
CHVRCHES are by far my favourite band at the moment- the Glaswegian electro-pop beauties fuse 80s with 2013 perfectly. When I saw there was a remix from fellow Scot, Auntie Flo (above), I was like, “Nah, keep your hands off my CHVRCHES.”
I was wrong.
He has completely reinvented the wheel with this one, released on Glassnote, morphing hard electronic synths from the original into soft Korg organs. It kicks in at 1:53 with a booming sub bass, and that’s it, I’m sold. It’s deep, subby, summer house vibes at its finest.
Check out La Samaria as well by this guy- it’s rare you hear the sound of Africa work so well in house (Yes, I’m talking about you Dario G).
Released September 23rd.
