London’s perennial afternoon party starters, Giles Smith & James Priestley, have got something special in store for us this coming August bank holiday (25th)… no change there your thinking, and you’d be right to a certain extent, but this year the lineup is rather special.
Split over two venues (Studio 338, Greenwich for the afternoon, and The Coronet, Ele Castle for the evening) you’ll find a smorgasbord of underground talent. Headlining the guys have managed to pull off a hell of a coup… playing their only live London show of 2013 will be Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald, presenting their Borderland project. Each revered in their own right, they came together this year to produce a collaborative album entitled ‘Borderland’ which was released on Tresor in June. Track 3 from the album, ‘Footprints’ is below, German machinery meets Detroit soul.
Keeping with Detroit, the headliner for the afternoon session at 338 will be FXHE head honcho, Omar-S. An uncompromising and unique vision of house and techno, coupled with his undeniable confidence and swagger, has enabled him breathe new life into the genre.
Throw in this lot too, and you’ve got 17hours of class.
Go get yourself some tickets before they all disappear….. TICKETS
