Brockwell Park To Host Sunfall

3

Another week and it’s another festival coming to our fair city. This time, it’s Sunfall. Curated by the heads behind XOYO, The Nest and Phonox as well as festivals Outlook and Dimensions, Sunfall will be taking place on Saturday 9th July at Brockwell Park. Not just a day thing, Sunfall will also be hosting some very special night time events spread across a number of locations throughout the city.

During the day, Brockwell Park will play host to Jamie xx, Ben Klock, Moodymann, Fatima Yamaha, Hunee, Digital Mystikz and Omar S to name a few. Sunfall’s music policy is mixed and has been curated to reflect the many sounds of London and will span jazz, electronica, house, hip hop, dubstep, techno, soul, drum & bass and disco.

As the sun falls, the music will then continue into the night with a series of events across South London. Dimensions Festival will host a night at Bussey Building, Jamie xx and friends at The Coronet, Deviation at Corsica Studios and a special Glasgow to Detroit night at Brixton’s Phonox.

The price of the evening events is all included in the festival ticket itself so head over to RA for tickets.

Junction2 Coming To London This Summer

Having announced a line-up featuring a who’s who in techno a few months back, LWE, the underground party purveyors who have dominated London’s party scene over the last few years have announced the venue for its brand new one-day techno feast, Junction2; Boston Manor Park.

LWE are famed for seeking out London’s most unique party spaces having held soiree’s in warehouses, carparks, roof tops, docks and even defunct tube stations. The most recent discovery is Boston Manor Park, complete with striking industrial features which made it a natural choice for LWE’s debut outdoor adventure. Located only 5 minutes away from Boston Manor Park tube station, the unique outdoor space will feature two stages, a wide variety of bars as well as whole host of pop eateries to enjoy.

The festival itself, which has been curated with partners The Hydra and Adam Beyer’s hugely successful Drumcode label will feature some monster names from the world of techno. Adam Beyer, Dixon, Marcel Dettman and Scuba will all be showing up with a notable appearance from Modular Pursuits, Carl Craig’s very special live show.

Our mates at Soul City Social Club will be launching a new weekly party down at the refurbished Red Gallery in Shoreditch next month. The guys say that the plan is to try and bring back to Shoreditch something that is lacking – A regular weekly spot with a good consistent music policy and cheap entry. The venue itself has been closed throughout January for refurb with a new Martin Audio sound system and projection mapped lighting designed for the venue being installed. There’s also a new late night Manhattan inspired cocktail bar on the ground floor too…

The first party will be on the 5th March and will welcome the guys from Love Glove down for some sweet Disco, Funk, Soul, Afro and more… good vibes guaranteed!

Grab a lovely edit above for as a taster of what the guys will be pushing next month.

This incendiary double act, AKA Killer Mike and El-P, are one of the most charismatic and compelling acts in hip hop today, merging socially conscious lyrics with huge beats.

There’ll be unmissable sets from some of the world’s biggest DJs. Before he steps on to the Main Stage Diplo will be spinning solo, Ed Banger alum Riton will perform, as will Lovebox friend and favourite David Rodigan MBE. fabric say: “As an East London venue ourselves we’re especially delighted to be hosting a stage at this year’s Lovebox and to be bringing a whole lot of what we do and the artists we love to the festival.  It’s taken a lot of work from both Lovebox and fabric to make this exclusive concept happen and it’ll be our first time ever bringing fabric to the field.”

On the Saturday, Lovebox are delighted to welcome London collective Jungle to the stage for an England and Wales festival exclusive. The band’s modern take on soul make them a perfect fit to perform ahead of Saturday night headliners LCD Soundsystem who are also known for their innovative interpretations of classic genres. Jungle have developed a reputation for being a formidable, hugely fun live act and as the sun sets on the Park they’ll provide an appropriately atmospheric soundtrack. Jungle say: “Lovebox is legendary and we feel so lucky to be a part of it this year. Nothing beats playing outdoors in your own city… See you in July!”
