So unless you’ve been living under a rock, well infact you can probably get 4G under a rock…. unless your a fully committed member of the tin foil hat brigade you’ll have heard about this venue called the printworks. A 5000 capacity rave space in an old factory more than a bus ride away etc etc….

But what IS it

It might well be the start of a revolution.

A coming together of large scale promoters, dancers and the too often forgotten; Southwark Council, building owner British Rail, police & licensing authorities. I’m not going to go into, nor do I know, how the companies behind this got their blessing (namely LWE the Vibration Group & Broardwick Live). Amid a backdrop of well documented club closures & major licensing ‘hiccups’ across the capital shall we say, it must have taken a lot of hand holding. And one hell of a proven track record to get the permission to invite that many people to a disused factory in Canada Water most weekends for the (so far announced) 4 month run of events. I do however fully tip my hat to those involved for the balls to make this happen & wish them the best of luck.

So whats going on & why should I go?

Apart from whimsical notions of dancing to some of the worlds greatest selectors in some sort of dystopian future like hangar (this is where Secret Cinema screened their Star Wars productions after all). On a more down to earth note you’ve got the tube et al a stones throw away, and with events ending at 10:30 – ripe for heading out for an afterparty if you can still hack it after ten hours. You’ll be able to get lost in all manor of surroundings that drunk people shouldn’t be let to run around in, you might even unearth an old copy of the Metro as this is where it was printed up until recently. The line ups are stellar & the opening party is sold out already so I think you can be rest assured you’ll have a few friends to party with at any of the events going on.
