The Sunday Chill : Grandbrothers – Wuppertal

I first stumbled onto Grandbrothers thanks to their epic piano led journey called Ezra Was Right last year…. since then we’ve kept a close eye on them and even invited them to do a influences guestmix for us which you can listen to again at the bottom of the post. Well we’ve just heard about this new LP on the way and we’re very excited!
You can listen to opening track Wuppertal below and if you’re into it as much as we are you can expect the album called Dilation for March time on FILM.

Have a little reminisce on the excellent Ezra Was Right… right now!

SlothBoogie Guestmix #036 – Grandbrothers

Aaaand now for something a little different from the usual disco & house business at SlothBoogie.

We first stumbled onto this German duo called Grandbrothers when we heard their amazing track ‘Ezra Was Right’ around on the internets…

It completely captivated me and I wanted to hear more from these guys so I asked them if they would put together a mixtape of some of their influences thats helped them to harness that amazing music they are making.

What came back was this lovely piano heavy selection of chilled and slightly experimental tracks that has been a wonderful antidote to the morning commute.
If you’v had a tough day slip on your dressing gown, make yourself a White Russian and stick this on the speakers.

You’re going to love it.

Their Ezra EP is out now on Juno.

Grandbrothers – Ezra EP

If you’re struggling to wake up in the pitch black at the moment then this new project called Grandbrothers will definitely help to ease you into the light. Grandbrothers is a duo made up of Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel and their first release on newly minted FILM records (short for Future Is Listening Music) is an absolute joy. The Ezra EP’s title track Ezra Was Right starts of as an ambient dream piece with echoed piano keys and slowly builds in intensity with more percussive elements to form a much needed driving sunshine boost to the system. Ezra Was Right has also come with some well thought out more uptempo remixes from Greg Wilson & Derek Kaye, JD Twitch Optimo and Kim Brown.

Already a hit with Giles Peterson and nominated as one of his tracks of the year its a great start to this special little project and we can’t wait for its release in February.
