Earl Grey – Arabian Nights EP

Our long standing mate and general lad about town, Earl Grey, has just released a belter of an EP on Have A Killer Time records. It’s fair to say Danny Ashenden has done a fine job and this is likely to be on rotation for quite some time. Anytime is a bonkers acid weapon that boasts a mean 808 groove with a relentless 303 line, that pulsates and teases throughout its 8 minute warehouse work out. On the other hand Arabian Nights is a more sultry low-slung affair with a menacing groove and some playful chords that have an answer for every 303 note. Chicago producer Black Light Smoke completes the package with stripped down club versions of each track. We’re a big fan of the trippy collage artwork too which was done by DFA don, Black Dice.

Shenoda – Who Ver? EP

Been out for a wile this little ditty, but still worth a mention. The Who Ver? EP out on the mighty Man Make Music label from usual Hypercolour stable boy Shenoda. Incidentally MMM ran the very first warehouse party I went to when I moved to London, many, many moons ago & a good party it was too. Anyway check out this tough slice of House & maybe even pick up one of their superb T-Shirts whist your at it.
