IMIURU – The Grandma

Jesse Rose’s new A-sided label got underway a few months back with a little collabo project between Jesse and Claude vonStroke… its now time for another instalment and its carrying some serious heat! Meet IMIURU… a new moniker from Junior Sanchez… and his coco loving grandma!

“What started out as a bit fun seemed to have become the anthem of this years Miami Music Week. Everywhere myself and the rest of the A-SIDED crew went, we kept hearing it being played, and every time I played it I nearly always ended up doing a rewind which I haven’t done since I was about 16 playing drum & bass in my bedroom. By the time Miami was over, I knew we had something big on our hands and promptly announced to everyone in the A-SIDED office this had to be the next release. It normally takes a couple of months to get something out but this one is as fresh as it gets. It’s cheeky and charming, was made in very little time but has the flavor in my ears of a House classic. Junior Sanchez under his new guise as IMIURU (said I AM I YOU ARE YOU) is about to show the house world what’s up once again. “ – Jesse Rose

(Loving the little snippet of Green Velvet in there!)

Jesse Rose – Fly Tonight

Check out this filter house monster from Jesse Rose that was premiered on the beeb last weekend by B Traits. ‘Fly Tonight’ is a classic little nod to the RoulĂ© sound and will be fist pumping its way to a release at the end of the month on his Play It Down imprint.

Oliver $ & Jimi Jules – Keep On Pushing

Oliver $ suddenly took over the world a few years back with ‘Doin’ Ya Thang’, a looped up Moodymann sampling hypnotic track that came out on Jesse Rose’s Play It Down. Since then he’s been busily beavering away on tons of new stuff and this March sees him release another bunch of bangers. His next single is with Jimi Jules called Keep On Pushing and its another cheeky bootlegged stomper that could only ever come out on Defected who seem to own the rights to most of dance music’s classic vocals.

Also worth keeping an eye on is the ginger ninja’s remix of last year’s Ibizan must play gangster house anthem ‘Shake That‘ by Dansson & Marlon Hoffstadt which has been stripped back but then morphed into an acid techy looped up monster that Oliver $ is sooo good at making!

Catch Oliver $ on tour in the US throughout March.
