Slothboogie Summer Mix Series Part 3: KMG

Next up in the Summer Series mixes is myself, the SlothBoogie resident record shop dweller, and occasional Paxman, KMG.

Following stellar poolside efforts from Pat and Debonair I’ve taken a slightly different approach, instead focusing on light shimmering textures, and smooth synth led riffs, both of which lift my spirits much in the same way a fine summers day can. However, they’re often accompanied with walking bass lines and arenose MPC drum tracks, so it’s perhaps more of an evening summer mix, than mid afternoon….

Pour yourself a margarita, slap on some factor 6 oil, and settle in as the mercury begins to rise….

Don’t forget this means that Debonair’s mix is now up for free download!

Catch some more sunny vibes later tonight at the Queen of Hoxton as we take over the basement all night looooong!

KMG’s hot 12 inches

Our new recruit, KMG, is a wax tickler… but it’s ok, we still like him. Each month he’ll be bringing us a chart of his favourite slabs, and in no particular order here’s the selection for May. Grab ’em while you still can…

Tapped Music – 12×12 Round Up Mix

Yup its another best of 2012 mix! Like you’ve had enough?!
Anyways… its been a wicked year partying with the boys from the Tapped crew and to celebrate we’re looking back at trax that revved our collective engine. Looking forward to it all kicking off again next year boys! :)

2012 was a great year for everyone here at Tapped. We welcomed Patrick Perring aka Slothboogie into the fold on a permanent basis, witnessed Debonair release his debut 12″ on Kolour Records… played host to Bill Brewster, John Dasilva, Yam Who?, C90s, Alphabet City and Cottam… travelled to Belfast to provide a sound track for the Nite Jams people to shake down ‘Taps Aff’ style… supported Todd Terje and Lindstrom, as well as bumping the OBL tent at the 1-2-3-4 festival.

So instead of just wapping a bunch of bangorz together we’ve got everyone (KMG, Timmy, Debonair and Slothboogie) to select what they thought were ‘best track from an emerging artist’, ‘best produced track of 2012’ and which ‘track they’ve enjoyed playing at Tapped the most’…

Happy listening, and see you all again in 2013…

Eau Rouge – Albert Park Mix

The sun is packing big heat here in the UK so the more sunny vibe mixes the better in my opinion. Here is a prime example of sun drenched listening from Eau Rouge… who commonly go by their DJ names of KMG and Debonair. They push their ploddy good times at their Tapped night in London… their next one will be with Cottam on 20th April.
