An absolutely magical package coming in March on Airtight Recordings. They’ve taken four classic Larry Heard cuts from his ’95 album ‘Dance 2000′ on Distance, and handed over the reins to four huge new-skool producers to do their worst/best?!
What we are delivered from that premise is an unmistakable Julio Bashmore haunting bounce of ‘And So I Dance’ that was featured on his recent Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1. This is followed by some deep shuffled goodness from newcomers Mak and Pasteman on ‘Futuristic Island Life.’
On the reverse we’ve got a luuuush deep boogie edit of ‘Gentle Warming Sun’ from Wolf+Lamb and then everything is neatly finished off with a slow machine-funk rendition of ‘Long Short Story’ from disco behemoth The Emperor Machine.
Quite the package I think you’ll agree…
