Review : Ceremony Festival

The Found Team announced that they would be closing summer with another spin off festival held at Finsbury Park on the 13th September and we went down to take a look at what the party squad who’ve been killing it over the last few years had put together.

The premise of Found’s Ceremony was to bring in a line up of old school legendary House DJs and producers as well as some of the new school guys with similar styles at the top of their game. A look through the nicely designed line ups (tasty periodic table influences for the nerds amongst us) and it was definitely one not to miss.

Our personal banger trail led us pretty much everywhere and as it tends to happen… the majority of the bill started to kind of blend together the longer the party went on. The most memorable though were Richy Ahmed when we first got there, big DJ Sneak with his rude Ghetto House anthems, Matt Jam Lamont, DJ W!ld with some very heavy but very good tech house monsters and then Lil Louis and Louie Vega for some soulful favourites finished up by Nick Curly B2B with Simon Baker for some more trippier vibes.

The music was varied between the tougher end of the spectrum with the usual promoter partners and the more soulful funky side from the old school crew.
This meant that the crowd were pretty mixed too with some old school ravers clearly up for a rave once again mixed in seemlessly with some of the young shufflers new to the scene.
There was a definite party vibe to the whole day/night and people were less there for posing as we’ve witnessed at some of the Found parties and more there to get a serious dance session in. We mean it when we say serious because if you added in the after party at Egg you could have been stomping your battered feet for a total of 19hours!!!

We called it quits after the main festival and we’d put down another big win for the Found Festival organisers.
Next up in their party calendar is the Halloween special at the Troxy with Mano Le Tough, Deetron and George Fitzgerald… We’ll see you all down the front!
