SlothBoogie Guestmix #037 – Rayko

As summer starts edging its way timidly back into our lives, our darker techno and house resolve has weakened and slowly the happier side of music we look out for comes back out to play in the sun.

Step up Rayko who’s edits have made our lives an all round smilier affair and saved many a DJ set when we were starting out all those years back. So when we heard the Spaniard had a brand new album out now on UK based Nang Records we decided to reel him in for a little mix to perk us all up.
You can stream the 10 track album called Rebirth below and get to know that mighty synth once again!

So here’s the next instalment in the SlothBoogie Guestmix series, Number 37 comes straight from Rayko:

SlothBoogie Guestmix #036 – Grandbrothers

Aaaand now for something a little different from the usual disco & house business at SlothBoogie.

We first stumbled onto this German duo called Grandbrothers when we heard their amazing track ‘Ezra Was Right’ around on the internets…

It completely captivated me and I wanted to hear more from these guys so I asked them if they would put together a mixtape of some of their influences thats helped them to harness that amazing music they are making.

What came back was this lovely piano heavy selection of chilled and slightly experimental tracks that has been a wonderful antidote to the morning commute.
If you’v had a tough day slip on your dressing gown, make yourself a White Russian and stick this on the speakers.

You’re going to love it.

Their Ezra EP is out now on Juno.

SlothBoogie Guestmix #035 – James Fox

Time for another little addition to the guestmix series and we’ve got Bristol based lad James Fox on the house hotline. We first found out about James thanks to his tasty 2 step bootleg called New Jack Swing on Well Rounded Housing Project back in 2011 and kept up with him ever since. Fast forward to the end of 2013 and after a whole tonne of new material he’s just finished off a release for Needwant with his Holding On tracks.
We’ve always been into James’ tracks and his mix selections so its a pleasure to welcome him aboard.
Get stuck into his housey mix below…
